South Cheshire Militaire - By Marc Hanna
Sunday 23rd February seen the first show of the season for both ASVC and our new table cloths, at the South Cheshire Militaire. An early start left the troops, Richard, Martyn and myself ready for caffeine at 7am, once sorted the journey to Crewe could begin.
Once we got to our destination we met up with Norman and commenced the set up, we had a great position with plenty of passing folk, being opposite the canteen was a blessing but it was hard to resist the temptation to pop across for a bacon sandwich!! Our display looked fantastic, with a nice range of subjects from sci-fi and films, to armour and wings.
There were plenty of trade stands, I think we all came home clutching some bargains, in fact Martyn couldn't even wait to get home before starting his newly acquired Sherman! It was also great to catch up with some old and new friends including IPMS president Paul Regan and Rod and Ian Knott from the motor museum in miniature.
Me and Richard both had entries in the competition and I gained a Silver for my '40 Ford Coupé in the Miscellaneous section.
Many thanks must go to SCMMC for a fantastic show and we're looking forward to attending next year!
