IPMS Coventry & Warks Summer Show - By Marc Hanna
June 22nd saw us descend upon the Midland Air Museum for IPMS Coventry & Warks summer show and open cockpit day. Another venue well worthy of an independent visit. Marc and Adrian got the display set up quickly and the lads from Coventry kindly sourced us an extra table which came in very handy. We were also joined by Wayne and Jack McCombie, with Jacks Tuskegee planes gathering a lot of interest. The weather was glorious and luckily we were in the shadow of the Vulcan which helped keep the temperatures slightly lower than those in the main hangar. There were plenty of traders to peruse looking for bargains and some successful stash additions from the under table sales. The main hangar had some fantastic displays and a long time was spent catching up with friends old and new.
Once again it was a very successful day for ASVC with Adrian gaining a 3rd place in the competition with his Iron Man type 42 and Marc got a 2nd with his 2005 Yamaha YZR-M1.
All too soon it was time to pack up and come home, all that remains is to give a massive thank you to IPMS Coventry & Warks for their hard work and for having us looking forward to seeing you in December
