Shropshire Scale Modellers Show - By Marc Hanna


April 6th seen ASVC at one of the biggest shows on our calendar, Shropshire
Scale Modellers show at RAF Cosford. A massive site with far too much to try and
see in a day, well worth a visit to see the museum on its own.
  The day got
off to a slightly later start than planned, with Marc, Richard and Zach turning
up 15 minutes late with the stands. Agricultural
vehicles causing a hold up.. the situation was quickly remedied and every member
in attendance got mucked in unloading the car, getting the table cloths on and
setting up the display stands. We managed to get the display sorted in record
time and ready for our target time of 9:30, no mean feat considering we had 5
tables to fill!! Great to see some new faces behind the tables too. What a
fantastic display it was, with a wide and varied range of models on display
including our junior members taking their usual spot front and centre. We also
had some success in the competition with Mike Skelding taking a 2nd and 3rd,
Paul Giles got a 3rd and Jim Whalen got a 1st in the civilian vehicles class
with his 32 Ford Roadster, massive well done to them all. Many thanks to
everyone that helped make the display what it was and those that helped with the
set up and close down on the day, your help was greatly appreciated.
