Club AGM & Competition Results
Saturday 5th January saw the first meeting of 2013 and was attended well. The meeting started as usual with catching up and comparing who had what in there Christmas stocking and who now has the biggest stash before setting to business for this years Annual General Meeting.
All in all it was clear that 2012 was once again a successful year for the club and at this point its a fitting moment to thank the committee of ASVC for its sterling work in 2012 especially John Turner who after many years as club secretary and acting chair is now handing the gauntlet to the new incoming committee, Thanks John you'll be a hard act to follow!
Other excellent news was that of the financial report being healthy and in order for which a ''BIG THANK YOU'' also going to Nigel our Treasurer! No doubt it is one of, if not the most important job of all working behind the scenes that can be a thankless task but something Nigel has got to a 'T', so thanks to Nige!
Once discussion for the 2013 shows had been discussed and the first part of the formalities had been concluded it was time to announce the long awaited Christmas competition results! As mentioned in the last update not all categories had entry's but the quality of what was put before the club was all of high standard with some interesting subjects. they are as follows:

Well done to all who entered, and remember if you did not ''You've got to be in it to win it'' so get building folks!
Finally there where three submissions of interest for the 2013 committee elections and all where carried successfully! It was also agreed that the new role of Vice Chair be established as suggested from the floor which was unanimously agreed, so without further ado the new Committee for 2013 is as follows!
Chair - Richard O'Connell
Vice Chair - Martyn Crowther
Secretary - Alan Dickens
Treasurer - Nigel Stone
Committee Member - Adrian Reynolds
Committee Member - Mark Timms
As you will note the majority of the committee are all new members and so is probably the biggest change to date. I know speaking for myself I am looking forward to taking the club forward and working with all to start planning for our annual show in September in addition to focusing on recruitment and club activities. Very soon I will add a profile of the committee to this website to give some insight to our individual experience as to give you a sence of where we have come from and what we have to offer.... so watch this space!
Oh and anyone wishing to contact me with suggestions for the website or anything else feel free to email me [email protected] or call 07940 582660
Until then I look forward to 2nd February meeting which unless we are all snowed in will be usual time and place!
So Happy Modelling folks and look forward to seeing the tables full in Feb!
